Breeds description
HOLLAND LOP
The Holland Lop is the smallest of the lop breeds and weighs a maximum of 4 lbs. They have lop ears and a short, thick coat that makes them extra cuddly! Their body is short and stocky and, thanks to their size, they fit well into many homes. They also have a friendly and calm nature and can be very affectionate with their owners.
LIONHEAD
The Lionhead rabbit is a small rabbit and will usually grow to just under 4 lbs. They are easily recognized by their fluffy lions mane which is where they get their name from! While these rabbits have a good nature and get on well with children, they can become very bored easily. They will need to spend lots of time outside of their hutch exercising and playing with toys.
TEDDYWIDDER
Teddywidder is relatively a rare new breed of German origin. This breed can be a candidate for the cutest rabbit breed because it has long hair in all of its body and has unique hair covering its eyes.
Teddy widder is a dwarf rabbit weighing three to four pounds in its full-grown state with a gentle and calm personality.
Their hair length can reach 2 inches or more, requiring high maintenance with routine brushing to prevent matted hair. Because they have a calm behavior, you can easily be brushing their coat without having to struggle to keep them calm and stay in place.
PLUSH LOP
The Plush Lop is a small rabbit and are known for their unique fur, they have a velvety silky fur like the mini rex rabbits and the texture is very soft, except they have floppy ears like a holland lop!.
The wonderful thing about mini plushes is they have fur instead of hair and they do not have dander which makes them the most hypoallergenic rabbit! They do molt twice a year like every other rabbit but after that molt is over there is very minimal shedding.
Weighing around 4.5 lbs, The Plush Lop makes a fantastic family pet because it’s known for its sweet and docile personality. These rabbits will be happy when sitting in your lap and relaxing, but they’ll also hop around the house with curiosity. Plus, they enjoy playing, so you can provide your pet with a variety of toys, and they get along well with children because they are gentle.
ENGLISH ANGORA
The English Angora is known for it’s fluffy coat! The breed is the oldest breed of domesticated rabbit and usually sighs around 7.5 lbs as an adult. While this breed is calm, social and intelligent — all the candidates for a great pet — they require a lot of grooming! you must brush these bunnies daily, otherwise they can develop health issues if they ingest too much fur. Thanks to their wonderful coat, the Angora rabbits are usually seen as show-rabbits.
DWARF HOTOT
The Dwarf Hotot rabbit is known for it’s small size and coloring. These white rabbits are often used as show rabbits, but are also popular as pets because they don’t take up a lot of room! They usually weigh between 2.5 to 3.5 lbs once they are fully grown and have a compact body type, they have short, dense and shiny coat that does not require too much attention. It is rollback fur, which means that when the fur is stroked from the opposite direction, it returns to its original position. Fortunately, they do not require too much grooming and, thanks to their short fur, you may not notice them shedding.
These bunnies can be very friendly and docile, making an excellent pet, but they need to be socialized properly and given lots of human interaction. They need to be regularly taken out of their hutch from a young age so they can bond with their owners.
Once bonded and socialized, the Dwarf Hotot rabbit is very affectionate with their family members. They like to be around you and won’t want to be stuck in their cage all day. Although they are not a particularly active rabbit, they will still like to explore the house or garden.
